About Leslie Colburn (She/Her)
Leslie Colburn helps children, adolescents, teens, and young adults navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges with warmth, creativity, and evidence-based care. Through LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for patients across Minnesota, supporting those who are working through concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, and other mental health needs. Leslie creates a welcoming environment where young people and their families can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress.
Leslie is especially passionate about helping children and teens facing childhood behavior issues, school avoidance, and trauma-related concerns. She understands how emotional struggles can affect relationships, academic performance, self-esteem, and daily functioning. Drawing from approaches such as art therapy, play therapy, and narrative therapy, she tailors treatment to each individual’s developmental needs and strengths, helping young clients express themselves, build resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies.
Her therapeutic style combines compassion with practical skill-building. Leslie incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. While she frequently works with ADHD, anxiety, and childhood behavior issues, she also provides support for additional concerns affecting children, adolescents, teens, and young adults.
Before entering the mental health field, Leslie developed a strong appreciation for the importance of connection, creativity, and personal growth. She earned her education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University, experiences that helped shape her client-centered approach to care.
Outside of her professional work, Leslie enjoys baking, creating art, coloring, walking her dogs, and spending time with family. These interests reinforce her belief in the value of creativity, balance, and meaningful connections as part of overall well-being.
