Alexandra approaches her practice from a background working with ages across the lifespan in various settings. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Union College and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of New Hampshire and holds a clinical license in New Hampshire. Her clinical training experiences have included policy and advocacy work to implement primary child abuse prevention strategies, a topic about which she is very passionate. She serves on the Human Rights Committee for a regional community-based agency and volunteers for the Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team (DBHRT) through the state of New Hampshire. Her education and experience have led her to work within public and private school systems, community-based mental health systems, and within inpatient hospital settings. These various roles have all involved the theme of working within an Integrated Care Model to meet client’s needs through collaborative effort with multi-disciplinary team members. Alexandra has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and diagnoses of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through direct support roles, in addition to working as a Behavior Specialist. She has worked with children, adolescents, and families providing crisis intervention and counseling and has experience navigating various systems such as Division for Children Youth and Families (DCYF), schools, and Juvenile Justice. Alexandra has experience working with issues including foster care, adoption, trauma, anxiety, depression, developmental disabilities, survivors of suicide loss, and grief/loss. She has also worked with patients and families through end-of-life decision making and hospice care. Alexandra is experienced in individual, group, and family counseling and approaches work with clients adaptively using a strengths-based model that draws on Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Alexandra is credentialed as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I (CCTP-I) and as a Certified Grief Educator. Alexandra feels strongly that clients and families are the experts on their own experience, and she works together with them to define and seek goals for change.
