Dr. Carrie Ann Gray earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University and then obtained her Master’s and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology in Washington D.C. Dr. Gray completed a pre-doctoral internship at Western State Hospital and Pennyroyal Mental Health Center in Hopkinsville, KY. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at The Pennyroyal Mental Health Center in Hopkinsville, KY, where she was then employed as a clinical psychologist before relocating back home to New England. Dr. Gray comes to LifeStance Health with diverse clinical experience. She worked at the Center for Mental Health in Washington, DC providing individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychological evaluations. Dr. Gray also worked at The Treatment and Learning Center in Rockville, MD where she provided individual and group therapy, behavioral observations, developmental screenings, and psychoeducational evaluations of children. In this setting, she provided evaluation and treatment to clients with learning disabilities, regulatory, behavioral, and emotional difficulties, and provided specialized treatment to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Gray also worked as a parent coordinator for the American Psychological Association (APA) in Washington, DC, operating under special master status of DC Superior Court with quasi-judicial power and assisted parents in creating custodial, visitation, and parenting arrangements that centered on the best interest of the child. At Western State Hospital and Pennyroyal Mental Health Center in Hopkinsville, KY, Dr. Gray provided inpatient and outpatient therapy to a wide variety of clients as well as conducted psychological assessments, and received specialized training with children and adult trauma survivors. She has provided emergency services to children, adolescents, and families, and as well as delivered in-school therapy in Cadiz, KY. Dr. Gray is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of NH. She is a member of the APA. Dr. Gray currently provides psychological assessment and therapy to children age 4 and up, adolescents, teenagers, adults, couples, families, and groups. Clinical interests of Dr. Gray include: survivors of trauma and abuse; mindfulness; overcoming the effects of growing up in dysfunctional families; codependency; chronic health conditions; grief and loss; play therapy; couples therapy; child and adolescent disruptive behavioral disorders; relationship problems; and managing life transitions successfully. Dr. Gray uses an eclectic approach in order to best match the theory and techniques to the needs of the client, drawing largely from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Person Centered, Humanistic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy theoretical perspectives.
