About Lauren A Genua (She/Her)
Lauren Genua is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), who has been practicing individual psychotherapy since 2019. She is licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Lauren’s main approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – understanding and recognizing one’s distortions in thinking that are creating or exacerbating problems, reevaluating those thoughts, and using problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations as well as developing a greater sense of confidence in one’s own abilities. Her main areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, & substance abuse problems.
