About Matthew Wick (He/Him)

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I believe that everyone has the right to live their best life—free from the weight of anxiety, depression, or the stress of navigating complex systems. My mission is to work alongside my clients in a collaborative, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner to help them overcome life’s obstacles and find balance, fulfillment, and personal growth.

I hold a Bachelors in Sociology from Ohio Northern University and a Masters in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University, which have provided me with a deep understanding of societal structures and the emotional impact of systemic challenges. I specialize in helping clients cope with the pressures and stressors of modern life, where job demands and social expectations often feel overwhelming.

Therapeutic Approach:

I provide an integrative approach to therapy, pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. My approach is built on the belief that with the right support, you can develop coping mechanisms, gain clarity, and live more authentically.

I’ve helped individuals manage ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, substance use, life transitions and relationship struggles—many of whom are feeling the direct impact of today’s rapidly changing world. Whether you are struggling with career-related stress, navigating changes in your personal life, or trying to make sense of the increasing pressures in your daily routine, I can help guide you toward meaningful solutions.

Who I Work With:

Professionals Feeling Burnt Out: If you’re overwhelmed by workplace demands, juggling complex responsibilities, or simply burned out from the constant push for productivity, I can help you regain balance and find clarity.

People Navigating Major Life Transitions: Whether it’s a career change, relationship shifts, or personal challenges, I support clients through major life decisions with compassion and practical strategies.

LGBTQIA+ and Marginalized Individuals: I offer a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those from marginalized communities who may face unique social, familial, or systemic challenges. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental environment where you can explore your identity, find support, and address issues such as discrimination, bias, and social isolation.

Anyone Seeking Personal Growth and Greater Fulfillment: You don’t have to wait for a crisis to reach out. I support clients who are ready to explore new possibilities, identify core values, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their authentic self.

About Me:

When I’m not in the office, you can find me diving into jigsaw puzzles, hiking through Ohio’s trails, or reading the latest in fiction or psychology. I also enjoy swimming, traveling to new places, and getting lost in a good movie or TV series. These hobbies reflect my belief in balance and enjoying life’s simpler moments—and I bring that perspective into my therapy practice.

I look forward to the opportunity to support you through life’s challenges and work together to develop the tools and insights you need to thrive. Contact me today to schedule a consultation, and let’s start this journey toward a more fulfilling and manageable life.

I have been using Lifestance for a solid year, with Matthew Wick as my counselor the whole time. He has been very helpful when I need him and appreciate him still when things are going well. He always sets our appointments for two weeks out no matter how I am, well there have been a couple times he has set them for a week out. That is to say he is a counselor that cares. He sticks around enough to make sure you are well and knows when to make appointments more frequent. He says too to contact him if you need him sooner and he makes time for you when you do. He asks good questions and will bring up helpful points. Right not he has been very helpful in helping me with impostor syndrome.

You won’t believe this — I still can’t believe it — but after struggling for decades with insomnia I’m now sleeping quickly and soundly after only two sessions with Matt. His friendly advice was specific. The online tools he shared help enormously. My wife and I cannot thank him enough
