Brian Lewis, ACMHC,
About Brian Lewis (He/Him)
Brian Lewis helps adults and older adults build practical strategies for overcoming life’s challenges, improving emotional well-being, and creating meaningful change. At LifeStance Health, he provides therapy for individuals across Utah who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, substance use concerns, or major life transitions. Since beginning his clinical practice in 2016, Brian has been committed to creating a supportive, collaborative environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to move forward. A particular area of passion for Brian is working with individuals experiencing alcohol and drug use issues. He understands that recovery is deeply personal and often affected by many aspects of life, including relationships, work, health, and past experiences. His approach focuses on helping patients identify strengths, develop healthier coping skills, and create sustainable pathways toward recovery while fostering hope and resilience throughout the process. Brian also has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, PTSD and trauma, including first responders, as well as adults facing midlife and later-life transitions. Whether someone is adjusting to retirement, processing difficult life events, managing stress, or seeking greater balance, he works alongside patients to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their goals and values. He also has experience working with first responders, military veterans, and individuals connected to adoption and foster care experiences. In addition to these specialties, he offers support for a variety of other mental health concerns.
His therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, while incorporating mindfulness practices when appropriate. Brian believes effective therapy should address not only symptoms but also help individuals build lasting skills that support long-term emotional health and personal growth. Outside of his clinical work, Brian enjoys spending time on the golf course and following college sports. These interests reflect his appreciation for perseverance, teamwork, and lifelong learning, qualities that also influence his work as a therapist.
