Katie Adamson, LCSW,
About Katie Adamson (She/Her)
Katie Adamson helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practical support, and evidence-based mental health care. At LifeStance Health, she works with patients throughout Utah who are seeking help for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. Katie creates a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients can build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. A particular area of passion for Katie is supporting individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital or who are participating in court-ordered treatment. She understands that these transitions can feel overwhelming and works collaboratively with patients to establish stability, develop healthy routines, and successfully reintegrate into their daily lives. Her approach emphasizes dignity, accountability, and individualized care that meets each person where they are in their recovery journey. Katie has experience working with teens, adults, older adults, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She provides care for a wide range of mental health concerns and offers additional support for individuals facing complex emotional, behavioral, and life-transition challenges. Her therapeutic style is grounded in respect, authenticity, and a strong belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing. Her treatment approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while drawing from additional interventions when clinically appropriate. Through individual, family, couples, group, and intensive outpatient services, Katie tailors treatment plans to help patients achieve their personal goals and improve overall well-being. Katie earned her education from the University of Utah and has been dedicated to helping individuals and families address mental health concerns through thoughtful, patient-centered care. Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her dogs, reading, baking, thrift shopping, and making memories with friends and family. These interests help her maintain balance and bring warmth and genuine connection into her work with patients.
