Ciara Johnson, Therapy Clinician

Ciara Johnson, MSW, LSW

Ciara Johnson, LSW, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors across Illinois navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges with compassion, structure, and practical support. As a provisionally licensed social worker at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy, family therapy, and case management services tailored to each person’s goals and experiences. Ciara works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions, creating a supportive environment where patients can build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and improve daily functioning. Ciara is especially passionate about supporting youth and college athletes as they work through sports injuries, grief, identity changes, and the emotional pressures connected to athletics. As a former collegiate basketball athlete, she understands how performance expectations, injury recovery, and athletic identity can affect mental health, confidence, and relationships. She enjoys helping young athletes process these experiences while developing healthy emotional regulation, self-awareness, and long-term coping strategies. Ciara also has experience supporting individuals navigating PTSD and trauma, school avoidance, and mood-related concerns. Her therapeutic approach combines evidence-based care with genuine connection and encouragement. Ciara utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques, and additional therapeutic approaches to help patients manage emotions, improve communication, and develop healthier thought patterns. She works collaboratively with families and caregivers when appropriate and has experience serving individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and adoption or foster care backgrounds. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2013, Ciara has remained committed to helping patients feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their mental health journey. She believes therapy should be a space where individuals can safely explore challenges while building practical tools for lasting growth and emotional wellness. Outside of her professional work, Ciara enjoys staying active through workouts and sports, watching games, relaxing with a good TV show, and spending quality time with her family.

Ciara Johnson provides services with supervision.
