Alec Merkley, Social Worker, helps adults and older adults across Utah navigate emotional challenges, strengthen resilience, and build a path toward meaningful change. At LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly explore their concerns and work toward improved mental wellness. Alec supports individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, while also helping clients address a variety of other mental health and life challenges. Alec is particularly passionate about helping individuals recover from alcohol and drug use issues. He is certified in Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE), an evidence-based approach that integrates mindfulness practices to help individuals reduce cravings, improve emotional regulation, and reconnect with personal values. He understands that recovery is a deeply personal journey and works collaboratively with clients to develop practical tools that support long-term healing and sustainable change. His therapeutic style combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based interventions to help clients gain insight, manage difficult emotions, and build healthier coping strategies. Alec believes therapy is most effective when it honors each person’s unique experiences and strengths. In addition to his primary areas of focus, he supports clients facing grief, men’s issues, relationship concerns, and other mental health challenges. He also has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Since beginning his clinical practice in 2024, Alec has been dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care that empowers individuals to move forward with greater confidence and purpose. His approach emphasizes self-awareness, acceptance, and practical skill-building to help clients create lasting improvements in their daily lives and relationships. Outside of the therapy room, Alec enjoys staying active through Zumba, pickleball, and soccer. He also appreciates trying new sushi restaurants and spending time engaging in activities that promote balance, connection, and well-being.

Alec Merkley provides services with supervision.
