I highly recommend Vista Behavioral Health! They have been incredibly understanding, patient, sensitive, flexible, reliable, and constructive. They listen well and care, this has been the best experience I have had with a psychiatric group. The administrative staff is also kind, helpful, and patient.
To get the most out of sessions, it helps to take a few notes on what to focus and work on until the next session. Setting goals and discussing with your therapist what is a realistic goal and healthy ways to reward yourself is helpful. Practicing exercises like guided meditation, imagery, and tapping with my therapist is also helpful!
The folks at Vista have offered me helpful insights that I would not have seen without them, and I can positively say they have helped me change and grow as human. I feel more prepared for what life throws at me and have new ways of perception to effectively target what I do have power to change and to accept what I do not have power to change.
Please know, it takes a while to get to this point, and the more focus and work you put in, the more you get out.
My psychiatrist has been considerate, respectful, and knowledgeable with my medication and treatment management, and my therapists have been constructive, non-judgmental, and considerate.
Recently I have been in group therapy, which has propelled me forward. It took about 4-6 sessions for me to warm up, and I am so glad my therapist recommended the group therapy to me. I have learned creative, novel, well-articulated techniques for DBT and mindfulness from the well-crafted print-outs, the leading therapist, and my fellow group members. The goal setting and check-ins are encouraging because they hold me accountable. Hearing how others cope with life events and ongoing struggles in this an organized and well-led environment (virtual on zoom) gives you a different perspective, inspiration, and hope.
