Alyssa Mayo helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults throughout Kentucky manage mental health challenges through compassionate, individualized psychiatric care and medication management. As a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse at LifeStance Health, she works closely with patients and families to develop treatment plans that support emotional wellness, symptom relief, and long-term stability. Alyssa is committed to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care.
Alyssa provides medication management for a variety of mental health conditions, with particular expertise in treating ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She also supports individuals experiencing mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, sleep difficulties, and other complex psychiatric conditions. Her approach combines clinical expertise with a collaborative mindset, helping patients better understand their symptoms and treatment options while working toward meaningful improvements in daily functioning and overall quality of life.
Alyssa is especially passionate about supporting individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that transitioning back to everyday life after an inpatient stay can feel overwhelming, and she is dedicated to providing continuity of care during this critical period. By partnering closely with patients and their support systems, she helps create strategies that promote stability, recovery, and confidence while reducing the risk of future crises.
Her care is informed by evidence-based practices and a holistic understanding of mental health. In addition to medication management, Alyssa incorporates principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to support emotional regulation and healthy coping skills. She has experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from LGBTQ+ communities, military veterans, and adoption or foster care backgrounds. She also provides support for many additional mental health concerns beyond her primary areas of focus.
Outside of her professional role, Alyssa enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. She values the balance that family life and time outdoors bring, and these experiences help inform her compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Alyssa earned her education from Eastern Kentucky University and Northern Kentucky University. Through LifeStance Health, she is proud to serve patients across Kentucky, providing psychiatric care and medication management for children, teens, adults, and seniors seeking support for ADHD, anxiety, depression, and a wide range of other mental health concerns.
