Joy Cloutier, PMHNP, helps teens, adults, and older adults across Minnesota navigate mental health challenges with compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care and medication management. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she partners with patients to better understand their symptoms, develop personalized treatment plans, and work toward lasting emotional wellness. Joy provides support for a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also offering care for many additional mental health conditions. Joy is especially passionate about supporting individuals experiencing perinatal mental health concerns, eating disorders, and neurodivergence. She recognizes that each person’s experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique, and she takes an individualized approach to treatment that respects the whole person. Whether someone is navigating postpartum depression or anxiety, seeking support for an eating disorder, or exploring strategies to thrive with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence, Joy strives to create a collaborative and affirming treatment experience. Her practice emphasizes thoughtful medication management and ongoing partnership with patients. Joy works with individuals facing mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, and life transitions, among many other mental health needs. She also has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities, and military veterans. In addition to her primary areas of focus, she provides care for a variety of other psychiatric and behavioral health concerns. Known for her approachable and engaging style, Joy values building strong therapeutic relationships founded on trust, respect, and open communication. She believes that effective mental health care begins with listening carefully to each patient’s story and goals. Outside of her clinical work, Joy enjoys spending time with her family, her beloved dogs, and her many houseplants. She loves planning celebrations, attending plays and movies, browsing bookstores, and revisiting favorite stories from Harry Potter, Jane Austen, and Sherlock Holmes.
