Sylvia Park, MD
Specializes In:
It is the brave person who allows him or herself to feel vulnerable, admit there is a problem, and take steps to find the right help. Loneliness, sadness, anxiety, depression, irritability, anger and/or mood swings are common experiences. Some have experienced trauma in the past, which may continue to cause problems today. I am committed to help people live their best lives. I completed a medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and am board-certified in Psychiatry and Preventive Medicine. I graduated from Williams College, and after medical school, completed my specialty trainings at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health General Preventive Medicine Residency program. Some examples of the places I have lived and worked are: a public mental health outpatient clinic in New Zealand, a private practice in Berlin, Germany, the Veterans Administration in Baltimore, Maryland, and a quaternary trauma center at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Maryland. Therefore, I welcome working with people from different backgrounds and viewpoints. As a child of Asian immigrants to the U.S.A., I grew up with many identities. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex interactions that exist across generations, within families, and between different cultures. I see our relationship as collaborative, so that you may come away with a greater clarity on what you seek help with, and a better understanding of your treatment options. I welcome your interest and questions. Lifestance is partnering with Portsmouth Regional Hospital (now an HCA facility) and Tufts University School of Medicine to offer outpatient clinical experiences to their resident physicians in psychiatry. Please note that if you book with Dr. Park, part of your visit may be with one of our resident physicians, including visits moving forward.
