Dr. Kanin earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from DePaul U in Chicago and completed an internship in Pediatric Psychology at the U of MD Medical Center in Baltimore. She served as a consultant to the Child and Adolescent and the Biological Psychiatry Branches of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), participating in research protocols and conducting psychological testing evaluations.
