Young children, in particular, are guided by this emotional life and, when children are aware of their feelings, they are able to better recognize how their behavioral troubles prevent them from confronting difficult emotions. Addressing a child's troubling behaviors from the 'inside-out', so to speak, can be a key to long-term behavioral change.
