Dr. Myers earned his AB in Sociology from Princeton University and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Carolina. He completed his internship at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and a post-doctoral residency in pediatric oncology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Myers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He has worked with hospitalized children and adolescents at the W.S. Hall Psychiatric Institute and with adults, children, and adolescents as outpatients at the University Specialty Clinics for the past 25 years. Dr. Myers has been active in the W.S. Hall Psychiatric Institute pre-doctoral Clinical Psychology Internship Training Program where he served as Director of Training from 2005 until he joined Lake Psychological Services in 2010. Dr. Myers treats children, adolescents, and adults. His therapeutic approach is integrative and includes cognitive-behavorial, family systems, object relations, interpersonal, behavioral, and dynamic elements depending on the needs of the patient. Psychological evaluation is one of Dr. Myers’s areas of particular interest. He has advanced training and experience in personality assessment, cognitive and achievement testing, and neuropsychological and vocational evaluation for both youngsters and adults. Dr. Myers is married to Felicity Myers who is also a Clinical Psychologist. They have lived in the Columbia area since 1982 and have two children.
