Christine Oyamo is a professional mental health counselor who has been practicing since 2019. She graduated from Wilmington University with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Christine believes that each person deserves to live a fulfilling life with meaning and purpose. Empowering individuals to achieve this is her main goal in treatment and therapy. Additionally, she believes that for therapy to work, there has to be a collaborative effort between the client and therapist, and she values her therapeutic relationship with her clients above everything. Seeing her clients attain their goals and improve on their quality of life drives her passion as a therapist. She believes in a person-centered approach to treatment and uses modalities that suits the client. She has worked with a diverse client population including those with personality disorders, schizophrenia, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and more. Her main area of focus is in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), psychoeducation (ager management, and social skills training) Recovery oriented therapy (CT-R), Narrative therapy, Solution focused therapy and Mindfulness. In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, learning about different things, reading and broadening her knowledge through continued education.
