Jennifer Alexander, LCSW, LADC,
About Jennifer Alexander (She/Her)
Jennifer Alexander helps teens, adults, and older adults across Maine navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and evidence-based therapy. At LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. Jennifer creates a supportive, collaborative environment where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen resilience, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change. Her approach is grounded in respect for each person’s unique story and goals. Jennifer is particularly passionate about working with individuals facing alcohol and drug use issues, gender identity concerns, and women’s issues, including life stage transitions and identity development. She recognizes that these experiences can affect every aspect of a person’s well-being and is committed to helping clients build greater self-understanding, confidence, and emotional balance. She also has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals connected to adoption and foster care. In addition to these focus areas, she offers support for a variety of other mental health concerns. Her therapeutic style blends evidence-based practices with genuine curiosity and authenticity. Jennifer incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients develop healthier coping skills, increase psychological flexibility, and move toward values-driven lives. She believes healing happens through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, openness, and collaboration. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Addiction (Substance Use Disorder) Counselor Associate, Jennifer brings specialized training and clinical expertise to her work. Her educational background includes studies at the University of Southern Maine, where she developed a strong foundation in social work practice and client-centered care. A Maine native, Jennifer feels deeply connected to the natural beauty and rhythms of her home state. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time in nature, reading, dancing to live music, and appreciating or creating art. She values authenticity, curiosity, and openness, qualities that guide both her personal life and her work with clients. Jennifer is proud to serve individuals throughout Maine through LifeStance Health, providing mental health counseling and therapy tailored to each client’s needs. Whether someone is seeking support for anxiety, trauma, depression, substance use, gender identity exploration, or significant life changes, Jennifer is committed to helping them move toward greater well-being and fulfillment.
