Maria Lauerman, LGSW, utilizes a client-centered approach, allowing the client to guide the conversation and explore different areas of their life. Additionally, she is solution-focused which provides the client with the opportunity to recognize and utilize their strengths as well as take part in the solution building process. Maria primarily uses the CBT modality to help engage client’s in shifting their perspective in a more positive and helpful frame of mind. Furthermore, Maria enjoys engaging with clients through use of their hobbies, allowing for a more natural conversation to open up, and creating rapport with the client. Maria has been trained in Trauma-Focused- cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which has allowed her to utilize an effective approach in reducing symptoms of clients suffering from PTSD, depression, & anxiety. In her spare time, Maria enjoys playing tennis, playing games, outdoor activities, volunteering, and art (not that she draws a pretty picture).
