Colleen Gunning, LICSW, helps adults in Minnesota navigate life’s challenges with insight, compassion, and a highly individualized approach to therapy. She works with adults, ages 18 and older, offering in-person and virtual individual therapy for those experiencing emotional, psychological, or situational distress. Whether clients are seeking support through major life transitions, processing grief, or managing anxiety or depression, Colleen provides a steady and informed presence to help them move forward with greater clarity and resilience. Colleen is especially passionate about supporting individuals who are experiencing midlife transitions, working through complex grief, and those living with chronic medical conditions. She recognizes how these experiences can deeply affect mental and emotional well-being, and she partners with her clients to explore their unique concerns with warmth and respect. Her therapeutic style integrates practical problem-solving with compassionate listening, helping clients identify core values and create meaningful paths through life’s uncertainties. With specialized experience in anxiety, trauma, and women’s issues, Colleen utilizes evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness.  She also offers Christian-based counseling, when requested. Her clinical insight extends to clients living with developmental disabilities. Colleen’s approach is grounded in curiosity and connection, adapting care to each person’s needs, preferences, and strengths. She also offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) for those looking to address trauma in a focused and impactful way. Colleen has been working as a therapist since 2014.  Outside of her clinical practice, she finds joy and renewal in the outdoors. She enjoys bicycle riding, kayaking, solo canoeing, playing pickleball, and spending time at her cabin—activities that reflect her appreciation for movement, nature, and balance.
