About Heather Merrill (She/Her)

Heather Merrill, LCMHC, helps individuals and families in New Hampshire navigate life’s challenges with compassionate, evidence-based therapy. She works with children, adolescents, teens, and adults, providing a supportive space to explore emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and build resilience. Whether you’re seeking help for anxiety, navigating parenting struggles, or managing life transitions, Heather collaborates with each client to foster meaningful progress and growth. Heather is especially passionate about supporting individuals and families impacted by adoption and foster care. She understands the complex emotional and relational dynamics these experiences can bring and integrates targeted approaches to help clients process identity, attachment, and grief-related issues. Heather also offers affirming care to members of the LGBTQ+ community and has extensive experience working with military families and veterans, recognizing the unique stressors these populations may face. Her clinical expertise includes treating anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and childhood behavior issues, using an integrative model that draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. Heather also provides family therapy and parenting skills training to strengthen relationships and improve communication at home. Additional areas of focus include school avoidance, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, and postpartum depression and anxiety. Clients benefit from her practical, down-to-earth approach and deep empathy. In addition to her clinical work, Heather enjoys traveling and planning trips, and in the colder seasons, she builds intricate Lego displays—including a custom-built winter village during the holidays.
