Alyssa Brin, PCA
Alyssa earned a dual Masters of Science degree from Bastyr University in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology in 2012 and has since worked in a variety of roles serving a diverse array of clients. Her unique training allows her to take a holistic view toward mental wellness, with a deeper understanding of disease processes and the mind-body relationship. Alyssa completed the Postpartum Support International 2-day training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders in 2019 and is passionate about serving women* in their childbearing years to address the challenges that arise during these life transitions, from trying to conceive to postpartum and beyond. She also completed Phases I and II of Brainspotting training with an emphasis on the Perinatal population. Services Offered: Individual therapy Theoretical Orientation: Alyssa takes a strengths-based approach for client care with an emphasis on increasing resilience.
Treatment goals are developed in collaboration with her clients from a humanistic lens that regards each person as an individual capable of achieving vibrant health and recovery. She is rooted in mindfulness-based teachings and supports health behavior changes through the use of motivational interviewing, mind-body techniques for stress reduction, and cognitive-behavioral restructuring. She holds deep empathy and compassion for her clients, and is sensitive to the unique and diverse experiences that women* endure to grow their families. *Alyssa understands that not all pregnant and birthing people identify as women and is available to serve LGBTQAI+ for perinatal wellness, with acknowledgment of limited training and experience.
More Information: Alyssa is a mother to three daughters and devotes as much of her time to them as she can! She enjoys camping with her family, cooking for family and friends, spending time with pets, practicing yoga, travel, and knitting when her hands are free.
