About Lynn Gilderhus (He/Him)

Lynn Gilderhus, LPC, LMFT, helps patients build resilience, restore connection, and find practical ways to move through anxiety, depression, and trauma so they can live with greater stability and purpose. At LifeStance Health in South Carolina, he provides Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Family Therapy for children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors, offering care that is both compassionate and grounded in evidence-based mental health treatment for the diverse communities he serves throughout the state. Lynn is especially passionate about working with trauma in all its forms, including military and combat trauma, relational trauma, childhood and developmental trauma, and school avoidance that grows out of overwhelming experiences. He brings deep clinical experience to helping people process painful memories, reduce emotional reactivity, and rebuild a sense of safety in themselves and in their relationships. This focus allows him to support lasting recovery for individuals and families impacted by PTSD and complex trauma. His primary specialties include Anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, and Couple’s Issues, with additional areas of focus available to meet a wide range of mental health needs. He works with select populations such as First Responders, Military/Veterans, and LGBTQ+ individuals, and offers a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Couples/Marital Counseling, along with additional therapeutic approaches when clinically appropriate. These interventions are tailored to help clients improve coping skills, communication, and emotional regulation. With more than two decades of clinical practice, Lynn brings a steady, thoughtful approach to therapy that supports meaningful change across the lifespan. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, photography and travel.

See what our patients are saying about Lynn Gilderhus

Lynn is our marriage counselor and he in a few short weeks he has really helped us with our communication and shared traumas since my husband’s catastrophic motorcycle wreck. I’ve noticed tremendous differences in how my husband communicates with me, and my husband really seems to like Lynn a lot — which says something because he was anti-therapy for a long time. I am starting to have hope again that my marriage can survive this nightmare. Big thanks to Lynn and Lifestance !

He definitely engaged me with questions about my past and how it has affected me over the years. He used the time slotted appropriately by focusing on me and what I need during our time together. He expressed knowledge of military members time in war and what may be needed to work through my past experience in a war environment. I truly believe he will help me with my depression, anxiety and PTSD from my traumatic childhood and military experience spent in a wartime environment.
