Michael Burd, LPC, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with practical strategies, compassionate support, and evidence-based therapy. At LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy for patients across South Carolina, helping people build resilience, strengthen relationships, and improve their overall emotional well-being. Michael works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also supporting individuals facing additional mental health and life-transition challenges. Michael is particularly passionate about helping clients develop greater self-awareness and confidence as they work through difficulties that may be affecting their daily lives. He understands that each person’s experiences are unique and takes a collaborative approach to treatment, creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether working with a child experiencing behavioral concerns, a teen managing emotional stress, or an adult navigating personal or professional challenges, he tailors care to meet each individual’s goals. His therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques. Michael also incorporates additional evidence-based interventions when appropriate to help clients develop healthier thinking patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. In addition to serving individuals across the lifespan, Michael has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, among other populations. He values creating an inclusive and welcoming space where clients can explore concerns openly and work toward improved mental health and quality of life. Outside of his clinical work, Michael enjoys sports, hiking, exercising, traveling, and listening to podcasts.
