Amy Watson, MA, LPC,
About Amy Watson (She/Her)
Amy Watson, LPC, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate emotional and behavioral challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and evidence-based care. At LifeStance Health, she provides therapy for patients throughout South Carolina who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or other mental health concerns. Her approach is centered on creating a supportive environment where patients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with tools to make meaningful progress toward their goals. Amy has extensive experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions, with particular expertise in anxiety, childhood behavior issues, and PTSD/trauma. She provides individual, family, and group therapy and tailors treatment plans to the unique needs of each patient. Drawing from proven therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Therapy, she helps patients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. She also offers additional therapeutic interventions to address a broad range of concerns. A special area of passion for Amy is supporting individuals and families affected by bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis and schizophrenia, grief, medical and health-related challenges, and significant life transitions. She understands how deeply these experiences can affect daily functioning, relationships, and overall well-being. Amy works collaboratively with patients and their families to provide education, support, and personalized strategies that foster stability, healing, and long-term growth. Known for her warm and engaging style, Amy values building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and authenticity. She strives to meet patients where they are, helping them identify strengths while addressing obstacles that may be preventing them from living the life they want. Her goal is to provide care that is both clinically effective and genuinely encouraging. Outside of her clinical work, Amy enjoys drawing comics, songwriting, playing the piano and guitar, spending time at the beach, walking her dogs, being with her family, and playing card and board games, especially Scrabble!
