Dana Alvanas helps patients across Tennessee navigate emotional distress, relationship strain, and complex life transitions with thoughtful, evidence-based care. She works with adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors, providing individual and couples therapy that supports healing, insight, and meaningful behavioral change. Through her work at LifeStance Health, she creates a structured yet compassionate therapeutic environment where patients feel heard while building skills to improve daily functioning and long-term well-being. Ms. Alvanas specializes in treating anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and depression, while also supporting concerns such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief, and sleep disturbances. She partners with individuals and couples to strengthen communication, regulate emotions, and address patterns that interfere with relationships, identity development, and life satisfaction. Her clinical approach blends practical coping strategies with deeper therapeutic exploration, and she offers additional support across a broad range of mental health conditions. She is especially passionate about working with individuals recently discharged from psychiatric hospitalization, as well as those navigating court-ordered treatment, active legal matters, and disability paperwork. Ms. Alvanas understands the emotional weight and systemic complexity of these circumstances and focuses on stabilization, advocacy, and coordinated care to help patients regain footing and move forward with clarity and support. Her therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with additional evidence-based interventions available to meet diverse clinical needs. She has experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, first responders, and military veterans, among other specialized populations. Since beginning her practice in 2019, Ms. Alvanas has remained dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality mental health care throughout Tennessee. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys horseback riding, crocheting, following baseball, and reading—interests that reflect her appreciation for balance, creativity, and connection. She is proud to serve communities across Tennessee with compassionate therapy services.
