Jeff arrived at Lifestance post graduate school, after working here as an Intern. His journey to becoming a therapist came from having run addiction recovery groups as a volunteer for nearly 3 ½ years. There he found how much pain people live with, often while working hard to appear as though nothing is wrong. This led him to switch careers from real estate sales, and go all-in on therapy; “I had no back-up plan” he said. Before returning to Lifestance, he worked at Renaissance Ranch treatment center–helping those in the acute phase of addiction recovery.

Jeff believes that there is something so incredibly powerful about being validated, heard and learning to accept & love yourself. He specializes in anxiety, scrupulosity, depression, grief, addiction, life transitions, attachment difficulties & styles, ADHD, & creating boundaries; overall–those times when we feel stuck, frozen or unmotivated in life. Jeff has experienced much of this in his own life and loves creating a safe space, and a person-centered style of therapy–focused on the client.

Outside of his work, he loves spending time with his family. One of his hobbies that he loves the most is BBQ. He joined the Kansas City Barbecue Society in 2012—first as a judge, then as a competitor. His team won a BBQ grand championship in 2017. Jeff has also been a food writer for City Weekly and Utah Stories. In addition to that, Jeff enjoys swimming as his favorite form of exercise. You can often find him at a nearby gym swimming laps during lunchtime. Vacations are often to lakes or the ocean where he unwinds with picturesque, open-water swims.
