Sarah Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps children, teens, and young adults in Utah navigate emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, and complex mental health issues. At LifeStance Health, she provides individualized therapy with a trauma-informed, relational approach that fosters safety, emotional growth, and long-term resilience. Sarah specializes in working with youth experiencing anxiety, ADHD, depression, and school-related struggles, tailoring treatment to each client’s developmental needs and life context. Sarah is especially passionate about supporting children and families impacted by trauma. She is skilled in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), an attachment-centered model that empowers children from foster and adoptive backgrounds to heal from early adversity. Whether working with children navigating PTSD, emotional dysregulation, or behavioral issues rooted in past trauma, Sarah integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques to help clients build self-worth, develop coping skills, and strengthen connections with caregivers. In addition to her expertise in trauma-informed care, Sarah works with children on the autism spectrum and those experiencing school avoidance or emotional overwhelm. She includes parents in the therapeutic process when appropriate, offering guidance and parenting skills to support progress outside of sessions. Her thoughtful and evidence-based care addresses the unique challenges faced by adoptive families, foster youth, and neurodivergent children. Outside of her professional work, Sarah enjoys swimming, running, and spending time with her dogs and family. She brings warmth, patience, and clinical expertise to every session and is proud to support families and youth across Utah.
