About April Foell (She/Her)
April Foell helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate mental health challenges with a thoughtful, whole-person approach that combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner and prescriber at LifeStance Health, she serves patients throughout Tennessee, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapeutic support tailored to each individual’s needs. She works collaboratively with patients to help them better understand their symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and move toward lasting emotional wellness. April has extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also treating a broad range of additional mental health concerns. She believes effective care begins with listening and developing a clear understanding of each person’s goals, strengths, and life circumstances. Her approach is individualized and may incorporate evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, along with medication management when appropriate. She also offers additional therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse needs of her patients. She is particularly dedicated to helping individuals facing trauma-related conditions, substance use concerns, and bipolar disorder. April recognizes that these challenges can affect every aspect of life, from relationships and career performance to physical health and overall well-being. She strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel respected, empowered, and equipped to make meaningful progress. In addition to treating these areas, she provides care for many other psychiatric and behavioral health concerns across the lifespan. April offers a range of mental health services, including individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, substance use medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), testing services, family therapy, and case management. Her integrated approach allows her to support patients with complex needs while coordinating care that promotes long-term stability and recovery. She earned her education from Tennessee Technological University and remains committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care. Outside of her professional role, April enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She also finds fulfillment in life on her small farm, photography, reading, and cooking. These interests help her stay connected to creativity, nature, and the importance of maintaining balance in everyday life. Through LifeStance Health, April Foell is proud to serve children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors across Tennessee. Whether a patient is seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, substance use concerns, or other mental health challenges, she is dedicated to helping them achieve meaningful and sustainable improvement in their mental health and quality of life.
