Jennifer Cooper, PhD
Specializes In:
Jennifer Cooper helps adults, teens transitioning into adulthood, and seniors across Oregon navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and practical strategies for lasting emotional wellness. As a psychologist with more than 20 years of experience, she provides individual therapy, family therapy, and psychological testing for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. Jennifer works with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including First Responders, Military/Veterans, and women seeking support during difficult or transformative periods of life. Jennifer is especially passionate about helping individuals coping with trauma, military-related stress, and the unique psychological demands associated with aviation and flight status concerns. She understands how high-pressure careers and traumatic experiences can affect emotional health, relationships, sleep, and daily functioning. Her approach combines evidence-based treatment with empathy and collaboration, helping patients build resilience, improve coping skills, and regain a sense of balance and confidence. Her therapeutic style is thoughtful, direct, and personalized to each patient’s goals and needs. Jennifer utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and faith-based approaches when appropriate to help patients address symptoms related to PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, and health-related stress. She also provides support for midlife transitions, postpartum depression and anxiety, and women’s mental health concerns. In addition to therapy services, she offers psychological testing as part of comprehensive mental health care. Jennifer earned her education through Connecticut College, Alliant International University, and Oregon State University. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2003, she has remained committed to helping patients feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. Outside of her professional work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends. She believes maintaining strong personal connections and meaningful activities outside of work contributes to emotional wellness and overall life satisfaction.
