Ross Renfroe, PsyD

Ross Renfroe is a relationally trained, generalist psychologist with skills in evidence-based psychotherapies, psychological assessment, consultation, and mentorship. After initially receiving training in his home state of Texas to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), he transitioned to the Pacific Northwest with a passion for learning about psychological and neuropsychological assessment. Ross has experience working with underserved populations in community mental health clinics, private practice, general outpatient treatment centers, and university counseling centers. He earned his graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler (M.A., Counseling Psychology) and George Fox University in Newberg, OR (M.A., Clinical Psychology and Psy.D, Clinical Psychology). He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the University of Idahos Counseling and Testing Center.

Ross is passionate about assessment for neurodevelopmental issues, but also therapy work with individuals working through the common challenges of early adulthood. Particularly, he has extensive therapy experience in life-style adjustments, stress management, managing depressive and anxiety symptoms, grief, developmental trauma, and spirituality/faith issues. Ross highly values the therapeutic relationship to help guide the direction of treatment that the client is seeking. Each person presenting for an evaluation or therapy services is a unique individual with their own sacred story.

Ross is interested in intervening in each persons story with curiosity, imagination, and a great sense of hope. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and branches of the many forms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ross practices from these therapeutic lenses while also giving respect to the biological, social, and spiritual dimensions of a human being. He strongly believes in collaboration and communicating with other colleagues, as consultation is key in helping clients achieve their goals and find appropriate treatment. In his free time, Ross enjoys adventuring in the outdoors by hiking, running, or cycling with his wife, Cara.
