Christopher Jones, PhD, PsyD, Psychologist in Columbia, South Carolina

Dr. Jones graduated cum laude from St. Leo College with a B.A. in psychology. He earned his master’s degree in clinical/community psychology at Francis Marion University. After working at the master’s level to gain clinical experience , Dr. Jones returned to school to earn his doctorate. He graduated with distinction from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida in 2003 where he focused on neuropsychology and neuropsychological assessment. While in Miami, Dr. Jones completed a two-year practicum in neuropsychological assessment at Mt. Sinai Medical Center through the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. He completed his year of internship at the Bradley Center of St. Francis Hospital System where he continued training in psychological and neuropsychological assessment. Dr. Jones’ background has provided him with experience in working with diverse populations ranging from elderly dementia patients to inner city youth. He employs cognitive-behavioral approaches in therapy but also draws on the brain-behavior connection found in neuropsychology to provide explanations for issues seen in depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Dr. Jones’ interests include neuropsychology and horticultural therapy. He is married and lives quietly in the country with his wife, Pam and their three cats and two dogs.
