Judith Lambert is a Certified EMDR therapist, specializing in the treatment of trauma, PTSD and anxiety. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is an extensively researched (evidence-based) therapy that treats the source of one’s current mental health symptoms but differs from traditional talk therapy. It provides an internal healing process where the patient uses visualization, while also engaging in bilateral stimulation (visual eye movements and synchronized audio tones). There is less talk to allow for more internal processing. And it is highly adaptable to today’s telehealth modality. EMDR is a powerful therapy that builds connections between the body and mind, while also improving cognition. As traumatic events are broken down in a session, the patient can take a step back and see other viewing angles of the incident and reshape what occurred. Patients report they feel lighter and less weighed down after going through EMDR. The problem that brought them to therapy often feels less significant. Patients find they are no longer scared or anxious about things that once bothered them. It is an active therapy that often triggers profound inner changes for patients. Judith became a Licensed Social Worker (LICSW) in 2005. She started EMDR training in 2015 and became certified in 2019. In her free time, she enjoys family and friends, outdoor hiking, gardening and creative crafts.
