Tanya Katz, MSW, LCSW,
About Tanya Katz (She/Her)
Tanya Katz helps older teens, adults, and older adults build greater emotional resilience, deepen self-understanding, and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practical support. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for patients throughout Oregon, working collaboratively with each person to create a path toward healing and meaningful change. Tanya is known for honoring each individual’s lived experience while fostering stronger connections to self, relationships, and personal values. Tanya has experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also helping clients manage grief, major life transitions, and the emotional impact of medical conditions. Drawing from psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy techniques, she helps clients explore both the emotional and physical aspects of their experiences. Her background includes work in inpatient psychiatric settings, intensive outpatient programs, hospice and palliative care, and outpatient therapy, giving her a broad understanding of mental health across different stages of life. She is particularly passionate about helping people navigate later life transitions, midlife transitions, and the unique emotional challenges that arise during periods of change. Whether someone is adjusting to evolving family roles, retirement, caregiving responsibilities, loss, or questions of identity and purpose, Tanya provides a thoughtful therapeutic space where clients can process their experiences and develop renewed confidence for the future. Tanya believes therapy should be a respectful partnership that balances insight, self-reflection, and practical skill-building. She incorporates mindfulness and parenting skills when appropriate and tailors treatment to each client’s goals and circumstances. In addition to her clinical training, she earned her Master of Social Work from Portland State University and previously completed an MFA, bringing a deep appreciation for personal stories and the healing power of expression. Outside of her practice, Tanya enjoys walking in the woods, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Her curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for human connection help shape the warm, grounded approach she brings to her work.
