Alan Murray, LMFT,
About Alan Murray (He/Him)
Alan Murray helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and practical therapeutic strategies. As a therapist at LifeStance Health serving patients throughout Oregon, he creates a supportive space where individuals and couples can explore concerns, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change. His practice commonly addresses anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also helping clients develop healthier ways of coping with stress, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. A key area of Alan’s work is supporting individuals facing transitions across different stages of life. Whether a client is managing the complexities of adolescence, navigating midlife changes, or adapting to later-life transitions, he helps them identify strengths, gain perspective, and move forward with greater confidence. He also works with teens who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, or interpersonal challenges and supports them in developing skills that foster long-term emotional wellness. Alan provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy, tailoring treatment to each person’s goals and circumstances. He has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals involved in adoption or foster care. In addition to his primary specialties, he helps clients address a broad range of mental health concerns and offers support for complex personal and relational issues. His therapeutic approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and evidence-based. He draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while incorporating other clinical approaches when appropriate. Because every person brings a unique story to treatment, Alan works to create an environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to make lasting changes. Alan earned degrees from Fresno Pacific Mennonite Biblical Seminary and TCA College in Singapore, experiences that contributed to his appreciation for diverse perspectives and the importance of understanding each individual’s background and values. Outside of his clinical work, Alan enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking. These interests reflect his belief in lifelong learning, personal growth, and maintaining balance through meaningful activities and connections.
