Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has been practicing since 2009 in a variety of settings including community mental health and private practice. She carries bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Music from the University of Montana and a Master’s degree in Health & Human Development/Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University. Jennifer believes that the capacity and potential to change is within every person. She works in partnership with clients to develop a deeper understanding of individual strengths, personal challenges, and inner wisdom to facilitate moving through life authentically with a sense of meaning and intention. Her approach is integrative within existential, interpersonal, humanistic, and mindfulness-based traditions, with an emphasis in developing insight, awareness and empathy for self, living in the present moment, and finding personal meaning. Depending on individual client needs, she incorporates techniques from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal neurobiology. Her counseling style is contemplative, creative, warm, down-to-earth, and tailored to individual needs. In her time outside of work, Jennifer is a mother to a grade schooler and enjoys creative pursuits. She enjoys singing and listening to music, reading, adventuring and exploring in the outdoors, cycling, baking, crafting, and watching scifi series, as well as frequents local dog parks and trails with her dog.
