Joshua Allen helps adolescents, teens, and adults across Oregon navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and evidence-based mental health care. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy, group therapy, and case management services for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. Joshua works collaboratively with each patient to create a supportive therapeutic environment where they can build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. Joshua is especially passionate about helping individuals facing alcohol and drug use issues, PTSD and trauma, and men’s mental health concerns. He understands that emotional struggles can affect relationships, work performance, confidence, and overall well-being, and he approaches treatment with empathy, accountability, and respect for each person’s unique experiences. He also has experience supporting first responders and members of the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing the importance of culturally aware and affirming care. His therapeutic style combines clinical expertise with a strengths-based perspective that empowers patients to recognize their abilities and values. Joshua incorporates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. He also works with individuals managing bipolar disorder, grief, psychosis and schizophrenia, and midlife transitions, while offering additional support for a range of emotional and behavioral health concerns. Joshua began practicing in 2022 and earned his education from the University of Denver and Guilford College. He believes therapy should feel collaborative, approachable, and grounded in genuine human connection. Outside of his clinical work, Joshua enjoys weightlifting, hiking, reading, traveling, watching movies and television, spending time with dogs, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
