Marissa Hensley, Therapist

Marissa Hensley, MA, MFTA

Marissa Hensley, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in Oregon since 2022. She earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide, a COAMFTE-accredited program.

Marissa works with children, adults, couples, and families facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship struggles, attachment issues, codependency, life transitions, and family-related stress. She also has experience working with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent populations in a supportive, affirming way.

She approaches therapy through a systemic lens—considering each client’s life experiences, relationships, and family dynamics from childhood to the present—to better understand how these factors impact current patterns and emotional well-being. Her work is collaborative, grounded, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Marissa draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, trauma-informed care, play therapy, and sand tray therapy. She has received additional training in play therapy, sand tray therapy, DBT skills, and ADHD assessment for both children and adults.

Marissa takes pride in bringing authentic, compassionate energy to the therapy room, creating a comfortable and supportive environment where clients can feel safe, seen, and empowered. Her goals include helping clients strengthen their relationships and communication skills, cope with anxiety and depression, navigate life transitions, and prioritize their own self-care and well-being.

Outside of her work, Marissa enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, practicing yoga, spending time with animals, and enjoying music.
