Mr. Heflin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has worked in the social work/ behavioral health field since 1993. He graduated from OLLU-San Antonio with a Master of Social Work degree. He primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach known as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Compassion-Focused Therapy which focuses on the development of psychological flexibility utilizing strategies including mindfulness, values clarification, and committed action. His approach can be effective in changing one’s relationship with unpleasant internal experiences and promoting action in service of valued living. His interests include working with individuals (18-65y/o) struggling with obstacles to living a meaningful and engaged life. During his career, he has provided services in both outpatient and inpatient settings treating a broad range of presenting problems including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, and substance misuse.
