Kirsten Day, Therapist Kirsten obtained her Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Tennessee and also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, located in North Carolina. Her previous experience includes providing counseling for college and graduate students at the University of Tennessee. During this time she also received training in TF-CBT, crisis intervention, psychological first aid, substance abuse screening, and grief intervention techniques. Additionally, Kirsten holds temporary licensure in the state of Tennessee and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). As a counselor, Kirsten is passionate about working towards the holistic wellness of her clients. In particular, Kirsten utilizes an eclectic approach integrating varying techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, expressive art therapy, and Narrative Therapy underpinned by an existential theoretical frame.
Kirsten works with clients from ages 10 to 65 with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity issues, and more. Kirsten aims to create an empowering therapeutic environment that allows the client to explore their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Seeing each client as an individual with their own unique story and experiences, Kirsten places a high value on collaboration in the therapeutic relationship. Ultimately, Kirsten wants to come alongside her clients to help them find purpose and create a life they believe is worth living. In her free time, Kirsten enjoys thrifting, creating art, spending time with her cat, and listening to live music.
