Emily Alderaen (she/they) is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon who holds a Master of Counseling from Oregon State University. As a trauma-informed clinician, Emily offers a grounded and supportive presence, weaving mindfulness, somatic awareness, and a social justice mindset into counseling. Emily honors your innate healing capacity and guides you to evolve through your pain. Whether you are struggling with a transition, loss, lack of purpose, or feeling stuck in your life or relationships, you deserve to be treated as more than your symptoms. Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are pieces of the healing journey, but trauma is stored in the body, which expresses what the mind suppresses.

Emily works with individuals and couples (poly, ENM-friendly) in a holistic approach that emphasizes mind-body-spirit healing. Emily promotes neuroinclusivity and is LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex positive, body positive, anti-racist, and continuously learning. Emily attends to the impacts of societal expectations and systemic oppression and works to identify each person’s acts of resistance and resilience. Her therapeutic style is relational and compassionate, informed by somatics, contemplative psychotherapy, nature-based therapy, IFS “parts work”, Hakomi, psychodynamic theories, and newer versions of cognitive behavioral therapies.

Emily holds certifications in Psychedelic Facilitation & Integration, Integrative Medicine & Nutrition for PTSD & Complex Trauma, Yoga Instruction, Crisis Intervention, Mediation & Conflict Management, and Neuroscience of Trauma and is trained in Hakomi, Nonviolent Communication, meditation, and Therapeutic Yoga.

Recently my long-time counselor sent a message asking to change the time of our regular sessions. She’d already confirmed in her message what time could work while keeping our originally scheduled days. It’s so convenient when your provider can help. On-line check-ins and co-pays are so easy. A real stressless process.
