Allyson Melcher, Therapist

Allyson Melcher, LPC-MHSP

Allyson Melcher helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults across Tennessee navigate life’s challenges with compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to their unique needs. As a Licensed Professional Counselor at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for those experiencing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting clients facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life-transition concerns. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to make meaningful progress toward improved mental health and well-being. Allyson is especially passionate about working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those navigating disability-related documentation and life adjustments. She understands that transitioning from a higher level of care can feel overwhelming and that ongoing support is critical to maintaining stability and recovery. Through collaborative treatment planning, practical coping strategies, and consistent therapeutic support, she helps clients build confidence, strengthen resilience, and successfully manage the challenges that accompany these significant life circumstances. In addition to her work with post-hospitalization transitions, Allyson has extensive experience helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She also supports clients dealing with substance use concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief, school avoidance, women’s issues, and other mental health challenges. Her practice is inclusive of diverse populations, including individuals on the autism spectrum, people with developmental disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Depending on each client’s needs, she may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and additional evidence-based approaches into treatment. Allyson believes therapy is most effective when it is personalized, collaborative, and focused on each client’s strengths. She works alongside clients to identify barriers to wellness, develop practical solutions, and create sustainable changes that support long-term emotional health. Her approach balances clinical expertise with genuine empathy, helping clients feel supported throughout their therapeutic journey. She earned her education from Southern New Hampshire University and is committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-based mental health care. Outside of her clinical work, Allyson enjoys reading, gardening, and spending quality time with her husband and son. These personal interests help her maintain balance and bring warmth, authenticity, and perspective to her work with clients. Individuals and families throughout Tennessee seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, or support following psychiatric hospitalization can find compassionate, skilled care with Allyson Melcher at LifeStance Health. She is dedicated to helping clients build stability, strengthen coping skills, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling future.
