In this group, we’ll discuss how to:
• Take ownership of your anger and learn ways to respond with intention instead of impulse.
• Use mindfulness techniques to calm your mind and body in moments of stress.
• Identify your personal anger triggers and the early cues your body gives you.
• Strengthen your communication and listening skills to reduce misunderstandings and conflict.
• Set and maintain healthy boundaries that protect your emotional well-being.
• Learn stress management strategies to keep emotions from boiling over.
• Explore the beliefs and thought patterns that may fuel anger.
• Build emotional intelligence and empathy to improve your relationships and self-control.

Participants are asked to purchase Anita Avedian’s Anger Management Essentials: A Workbook for People to Manage Their Agression.

Participants: Adults 18+ of all genders are welcome. This group can be best suited for individuals experiencing difficulty in responding appropriately (when angry) within their family, at their workplace, with Child Protective Services (CPS) or law enforcement, etc.

Facilitator:

Larinda Carrier, MS, LPCC

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals navigate anger. I have a background in the use of CBT [cognitive behavioral therapy] and REBT [rational emotive behavioral therapy], as well as mindfulness, that helps people gain control over their anger, rather than allowing it to control them. Anger is often just the surface, and I can help you find out what is underneath your anger, and then learn to manage it in a positive manner. Our goal is not to eliminate anger but rather, to understand it and manage it. Classes will be a no-judgment zone where you can learn practical tools, and expect real talk as you learn not only from me, but from one another as well.
