Jason earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 1998, and has been licensed (LCSW) since 2005. His undergraduate degree was in Psychology with a Criminal Justice minor. He has over 20 years of experience working with teens and pre-teens and their families, with the full gamut of mental health and behavioral symptoms: anxiety/OCD, depression, ADHD, past trauma/PTSD, oppositional/criminal behaviors, family relational problems, autism, GLBT+/gender identity, development of healthy sexuality/boundaries, etc. In addition to getting into the heart of the problems, Jason likes to focus on the strengths of the individual and family culture and what is going well, with humor and open communication. Utilizing evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Family Systems, Jason provides practical guidance to managing symptoms, navigating the many challenges of childhood and adolescence, and strengthening family relationships.
