Jamie Owens, LCSW
Specializes In:
Jamie Owens, LCSW, helps children, teens, and young adults build stability, confidence, and practical coping skills during some of life’s most challenging moments. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to individuals and families across Michigan. Jamie supports children, adolescents, teens, and adults through individualized therapy that is thoughtful, structured, and responsive to each person’s unique needs, with a focus on creating a safe and affirming therapeutic environment. Jamie specializes in treating ADHD, anxiety, and PTSD/trauma, helping clients better understand their emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns while developing tools for lasting change. She works with children navigating behavioral concerns, teens facing emotional or identity-related stressors, and young adults managing transitions, mood concerns, or trauma-related symptoms. Her clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Family Therapy, and she also offers additional therapeutic methods when clinically appropriate. Jamie is especially passionate about supporting individuals and families following a recent discharge from a psychiatric hospital. She focuses on continuity of care during this critical transition, helping clients regain a sense of safety, establish effective coping strategies, and reduce the risk of re-hospitalization. Jamie collaborates closely with families and care teams to support emotional stabilization, daily functioning, and long-term recovery. In addition to individual therapy, Jamie provides family therapy and case management services. She has experience working with populations including LGBTQ+ individuals, those involved in adoption or foster care, and individuals on the autism spectrum, and she offers additional clinical expertise beyond these areas. Her work is informed by a strong understanding of childhood development, family systems, and trauma-informed care. Outside of her clinical work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and baking, reading, playing video games, building Legos, and watching movies. She also loves outdoor adventures in warm weather and is a self-proclaimed dinosaur enthusiast.
