Abby Moriarty is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts who has been working in the mental health field since 2019. She has a Masters Degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Simmons University. As a majority of her clinical experience has derived from working at the highest level of care on child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units with individuals and families who have experienced extensive trauma and disrupted attachments, Abby places large importance on building a trusting, and strong therapeutic alliance with her clients. Through the use of humor, kindness, and genuineness, Abby helps guide clients to shift their perspective on themselves, their relationships, and the world around them to a more positive place. She focuses largely on client’s strengths and works with them to create and implement realistic expectations for treatment that aligns with their personal values, goals. Abby is very relational in her work with children and teenagers, really getting down on their level so they feel seen, heard, and supported at all times. She focuses on who they are as individuals, allowing them to explore identity by providing a safe space free of shame and judgement. It is important for Abby to meet each of her clients where they are at and work together as a team to build resiliency, self-love, and help clients find their own voice to advocate for their needs. Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending time outside, long distance running, music, painting, spending time with her pets, dog and cat, traveling, learning about different cultures, drinking coffee and volunteering.
