Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing since 2014. Amanda obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia, and her Master’s degree in Counselor Education, Clinical Mental Health Counseling track, from Augusta University. Amanda completed her practicum at the Child Advocacy Center of Child Enrichment, working with children who had experienced sexual abuse and other traumas, and completed her internship at a private practice. Prior to working in private practice, Amanda worked in psychiatric hospital settings for both children and adults. Amanda’s method of therapy includes tailoring her approach to the client and working together to achieve goals. She utilizes methods of cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and techniques from other methods as appropriate (mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, Gottman method, etc.).

She feels that therapy should be a safe place for clients to find the strength and empowerment they need to overcome difficulties. Amanda works with adults and is especially passionate about helping clients to heal from past trauma and working with the LGBTQ+ community. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys running, hiking, reading, bingeing good TV shows, and spending time with her wife and all their pets.
