Ann Crumpler, LCSW

Ann Crumpler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of clinical experience in assisting individuals with emotional trauma. She specializes in psychotherapeutic treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Ann is also an experienced family and couples therapy practitioner. She received her Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work in 1989, with a concentration in comprehensive health while working in the public sector providing child protective services.

Ann brings a compassionate presence to build a partnership for change and believes therapy is about understanding. She is committed to a collaborative process of discovery building upon strengths and transforming distress, isolation and fear into resilient action for meeting life’s challenges. Her orientation is informed by trauma/attachment theory including completion of Level II EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and cognitive processing therapy training, systems theory, solution focused interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices and using the body’s wisdom to awaken a somatic narrative of needs and emotions to inform thinking and choice.

Ann’s focus is on resilience and she enjoys working with all age groups.  Her integrated holistic approach strives to guide individuals and families towards compassionate emotional well-being, improved life-style behavioral patterns, improved communication and joyful engagement.  She is engaging and creates an open and safe space for building relational trust and believes that support, connection, and collaboration are the essential components of improving one’s quality of life and achieving mutual established goals.
