Cindy Nordberg, PCA
Cindy has been working in the substance abuse disorder field since 1999. She began her counseling career as a substance abuse counselor working with women in a residential treatment facility who had children in the foster care system. She developed a parenting program for mothers in treatment and early recovery as well as pursued extensive training to treat women with trauma and addiction issues surviving domestic violence. Cindy expanded her career into the intensive outpatient treatment setting as an addiction counselor, conducting group & individual counseling, psychoeducation, couples & family therapy. Through her experience, training and developing new skills in co-occurring mental health, she become an Assessment Specialist for high-risk mental health clientele and later as Clinic Coordinator, supervising and training other counselors and finally Program Manager of an Outpatient treatment facility.
Cindy pursued her passion in treating co-occurring disorders by obtaining a master’s in counseling from Capella University in 2011 and a Masters in Mental Health therapy from Walden University in 2015. She furthered her career in the co-occurring treatment field by becoming a Mental Health Specialist and psychotherapist. She went on to become a Clinical Supervisor then Clinical Director in a Residential/Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient treatment facility. She specializes in providing psychotherapy to clients with co-occurring addiction, mental health, trauma, domestic violence and lifestyle coping skills.
