Jim Gedra, PsyD
Dr. Jim Gedra is a licensed psychologist who works with adolescents and adults. He obtained his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Wright State University. Dr. Gedra has previously been a professor of psychology at the University of Findlay and Murray State University. His previous clinical experience involves working with adolescents and adults at university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and psychiatric hospitals. He enjoys working with adolescents and adults with a broad range of behavioral health issues: including, depression, bipolar, anxiety, anger, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. His approach to therapy is to recognize that every person is an expert on themselves and works with them to build upon their unique strengths by incorporating evidence-based interventions into their lives: such as, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectic Behavior Therapy. Through this collaboration, clients are able to learn more effective means of dealing with their current problems and strive to become more resilient to other stressors in the future. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, spending time with friends and family, and homebrewing.
